Last week we were proud to be shortlisted for The Furniture Makers’ Company’s 2018 Sustainability Award.
JAY-BE® made it down to the final 3 companies and were invited to meet the judges at the Furniture Makers’ Hall, where our Managing Director Roger Durrans presented our company to a panel of industry experts. We appeared alongside Martek the packaging supplier and Silentnight – this year’s winner.
JAY-BE® have been passionate about responsible manufacturing for many years and making products which are functional, inventive and environmentally conscious is something we care very strongly about.
As one of the UK’s most distributed bed brands, we are committed to leading the market, not only in terms of value and comfort, but through developing more environmentally conscious products by considering their full lifecycle.
Having undertaken extensive research into the environmental impact of the bed and mattress industry, we are actively using the knowledge we have gained and take advantage of the most innovative materials and packaging techniques to continually lower our companies carbon footprint. We have some very exciting developments underway for 2019 and we are very much looking forward to achieving even higher levels of sustainability and environmentally conscious manufacturing within our industry.
The Sustainability Award recognises improvements in sustainability in relation to manufacturing of furniture and furnishings and is sponsored by waste management specialist HIPPO. Previous winners of the award include Godfrey Syrett, Hypnos Beds, Orangebox, Premiere Kitchens and Senator International.
We were honoured to have been shortlisted and extremely proud of all our staff for their continued hard work.
