Jay-Be® has donated funds to help purchase a ‘Sunshine Coach’ for Northcott School in Bransholme, Hull.
Proceeds raised by the school were matched by sponsors and donors to reach the total amount needed to purchase the coach, which was given to the school on Friday the 12th of April.
Jay-Be® was a co-sponsor alongside ABI Holiday Homes, Bankside Patterson, Eltherington Group and MKM Building Supplies who all clubbed together in order to help raise the remaining funds to purchase the coach.
All Sunshine Coaches are organised by Variety – a children’s charity improving the lives of children and young people throughout the UK who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged.
Having their own Sunshine Coach will enable the school to plan trips and activities without worrying about the cost and timing of public transport, knowing that the pupil’s wheelchair access is completely taken care of.
Chris Sheard, Product development and Contract Manager at Jay-Be® commented “Jay-be® are delighted to have contributed and it was fantastic to see how pleased the Northcott pupils are with their Sunshine Coach. It was also a pleasure to be given a guided tour by the pupils and realise how proud they are of their school.”
In addition to their famous Sunshine Coaches, Variety also provide specialist care, sensory and inclusive playground equipment, sports wheelchairs and other assistive technology for schools, youth clubs, sports clubs, hospitals, hospices and other organisations working with children.
The Sunshine Coach will help support the children at Northcott School in terms of their physical, social and emotional development. Sunshine Coaches can help improve children’s independence or mobility and make it far easier for their care needs to be met.
This is the 5,586th bus presented by Variety, who are well known for their famous Sunshine Coaches.
